The following information has been received from WCC

27 February 2013

Dear Resident,

Removal of hazardous trees: Lakewood Reserve

This letter is to let you know that three groups of macrocarpa and pine trees will soon be removed from Lakewood Reserve as part of the City Council’s hazardous tree removal programme (see Map over page).

The trees are being removed to eliminate the risk they pose to people using the reserve, buildings and property.

This work will be carried out by our contractors, Treescape. It will commence on Monday 4 March and should take two weeks, weather permitting.

Machinery will be used during the removal and parts of the reserve will be closed to the public.

The timber and wood recovered from the trees will be removed from site and all other wood will be placed through a large mulching machine. There will not be any firewood available to the public.

I apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation and patience during this major tree removal operation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely
