Despite the inclement weather, a very enjoyable official opening ceremony of the Churton Park Community Centre was held on Saturday 19 June 2013.

The ribbon at the door was officially cut by the Mayor, Celia Wade-Brown, before invited guests moved inside to inspect the new facilities and to listen to the speeches. The opening of the Community Centre is a real milestone in the development of the Churton Park community.

Later the official cake was cut by the Mayor, assisted by Richard Taylor, CPCA President, which was then shared with the many interested and supportive residents. Entertainment provided by local groups filled the rest of the afternoon.

The attached images record this significant occasion.
