Christmas Party a great success

The annual Churton Park Children's Christmas party held on 24 November was a great success.

The crowd was entertained by the Salvation Army band playing Christmas music while the children were engaged in face painting, balloon tying, bouncy castle and of course being able to talk to Santa. There were lots of entries in the teddy bear competition, and good spot prizes were won for making a donation to the Food Bank.

Afternoon tea with very tasty baking was available, provided by the Churton Park Anglican Church, as well as plenty of barbecued sausages and ice blocks.

Face painting was expertly applied by Theresa Le Roux (local artist) and Fairy  Cerri (Must be Dreaming Productions) did a great job with the balloon creations.

All went well, despite the school hall being off limits because of renovation works currently underway.

Thanks are due to many people and organisations for their help and support, including Churton Park School, Churton Park Anglican Church, Johnsonville Plunket, Salvation Army Band, NZ Police Johnsonville, New World Churton Park, Brumby's Johnsonville, Guardian First National, and of course the man with the white beard and red coat Santa, ably assisted by his elf Lachlan McGrail.

The attached pictures give a record of a great afternoon.
